Meet Zoë! She’s a fellow blogger here in Cork and will keep you up to date with all the latest fashion beauty and lifestyle trends!
What inspired you to start blogging?
I’d been very active on Instagram and had built up quite a following. I really enjoyed writing and photography, as well as makeup & fashion, and I’d been meaning to for so long. One day, a girl in my maths class said “you really should start a blog!” so I thought, what the heck, I may as well, and here I am!
What drives you to keep blogging?
That’s a question with a lot of answers! I suppose the main one is, I’ve never lost that passion for writing. I love sitting down and photographing, coming up with ideas, styling outfits, writing, and talking to readers. I’m interested in some sort of career in beauty, fashion or PR or some kind, so it’s just what I love to do, really!
What will readers find on your blog?
A real mishmash of things: Beauty, from Dior palettes to lidl perfume; Fashion – From formal attire to full-on goth; and anything else lifestyle-y, from 10 happy things going on in my life, to travel, to recipes and craft. Whatever takes my fancy when the inspiration strikes! This means sometimes it’ll be more focused on a certain genre of post depending on whats inspiring me most at the time. I think this helps things stay authentic, because I’m always excited about what I’m writing and I think it shows through.
What fashion essentials do you think every woman should own for the coming summer?
I mean, this is Ireland – I’d say a good coat! If you’re lucky enough to live elsewhere where sunshine exists, I’d say a light white cotton shirt, as it will protect you from sun but look chic with anything. Of course, a very good pair of sunglasses also doesn’t go amiss!
What are your top 5 beauty essentials you can’t live without?
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Repair Cream – LUSH Ultrabland Cleanser – Chanel Inimitable Mascara – Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette – Avocadoes. Eat them, make them into a mask, whatever, they’ll make your skin incredible!
Describe your perfect day!
This changes a lot, but whilst I’m stressed at school and dreaming of summer: Waking up at about 10.30 to see sunshine. Slowly getting up and getting ready with no commitments, going for breakfast somewhere nice with my boyfriend and getting waffles with loads of bacon. Exploring a city slowly with no stress, wandering between flea markets and probably buying some new makeup. Shooting some outfit photos on a beautiful, quiet street. Getting out of the haze of a city to eat a picnic dinner and drink prosecco on a beach and swimming in the evening heat while the sun sets. Heading home, curling up, binge watching Sherlock and taking a long, hot bath with LUSH’s Twilight Bath Bomb and climbing into fresh sheets. I’m an easy to please, simple girl!
Where do you shop?
Everywhere! H&M and Boohoo.com are two big favourites of mine. Love anything good value, so Penneys, as well as charity and vintage shops are also places I frequent. I’ll pick up pieces anywhere as long as they’re stylish and affordable – I even bought a trench coat in Lidl!
What do you wish you had more of in your life?
Time. Always time! I’m running a blog semi-professionally, doing my Leaving Cert, I’m involved in some charity projects, whilst maintaining a social life, a relationship, maintaining 3 long distance friendships with my best friends who all moved away for uni, and battling some health issues. I would love to be able to properly stop and smell the roses!
What’s your favourite ‘me time’ activity?
Taking a long soak with a bath choc-full of fancy products, some scented candles and all of my YouTube subscriptions to catch up on. Total relaxation.
You have a night off and unlimited funds: what do you do?
Book me and my boyfriend a trip to Tokyo and make it a week off. A lifelong dream that funds prevent!
What are your top 3 favourite places in Cork?
Retrograde Vintage Clothes Shop – Vibes and Scribes – Opera Lane (so convenient to have all my favourite high street shops in one place!)
What are your favourite bars and restaurants in Cork?
Coqbull (The best burgers and cocktails, I highly recommend the mango and vanilla daquiri!), Perry St Market Café (beautiful atmosphere, and pulled pork brioche buns!) and Cork Coffee Roasters, the best coffee in town from an independent café!
