Ballymaloe is home of a wonderful restaurant, beautiful grounds and most importantly- cookery school of the famous Darina Allen. We booked in for Sunday lunch and explored the grounds afterwards.
The restaurant is at the main house which is just beautiful. All ingredients are either locally sourced or home grown. The menu changes seasonally. I had the potted lobster with thyme and lemon which was served with crispy white bread and the hake as main. The entree was fantastic. JC had the terrine and the organic chicken afterwards which he enjoyed very much as well. But the highlight was the dessert trolley. There was plenty to choose from – lemon meringue, chocolate cake, ice cream, raspberry mousse and cookies… Just divine!
