Harmony Spa at Radisson Blu Resort Fiji

The Harmony spa is located at the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji and it is hidden away in the centre of the resort surrounded only by water and lush green gardens. The spa has three outdoor, one air-conditioned and two indoor treatment rooms and an outside manicure and pedicure terrace overlooking the pool.

The spa menu is quite extensive. Multiple facials, body wraps, traditional Fijian treatments like the Beqa hot stone therapy and a warm seashell massage as well as manicures, pedicures, and waxing. Packages seem to be very popular as well. I decided to try the Purifying Facial.
When I entered the spa reception, I was warmly welcomed by a spa therapist, and after being offered a glass of water, I was led into my treatment room. The room was indoors and painted in dark colours. It was nice but quite small and dark. Vicky, my therapist, was very sweet and after introducing herself and telling me about the facial I was about to experience, she started gently cleansing and massaging my face. Then she used an exfoliant containing tropical fruit enzymes which smelt delicious. All products used at the spa are from Pure Fiji. The mostly contain fruit, coconut or tropical flower extracts. While a gentle flow of hot steam was put on my face to open the pores the therapist covered my hands in a passionflower body butter and wrapped them in cling foil and a towel. Following the extraction, a mask was applied to my face and décolletage. While the mask had time to work, Vicky started massaging my shoulders, neck and head. That was the highlight of the treatment! I felt so relaxed – just what the doctor ordered! After applying some soothing serum and day crème, my treatment was over.  My skin felt beautiful and soft and I smelt divine! An hour treatment went way too fast!

Resume: I would definitely go back again but I would ask for an outside treatment room. That was the only disappointment. The spa wasn’t busy and the outside rooms weren’t occupied. Listening to the waterfall and feeling a light breeze outside would have made the experience even more special.

Tip: If you are in Fiji during wet season (Nov-Mar) go early in the morning or later in the afternoon. The rooms can get quite hot during midday. If you decide to buy any Pure Fiji products after your treatment, you will get a 15% discount. (May 2014)
